We know February can feel like a funny in-between month, but it is actually the perfect time to get your hands back in the soil and start dreaming about the growing season ahead.
Even on chilly days there is loads you can do to wake your garden up. Think late winter flowering shrubs like camellias and daphne for colour and scent, plus early seed sowing indoors to get a head start.
Sweet peas, dahlias and hardy annuals are all popular choices right now, while veg growers can begin peppers, chillies, onions and leeks on a sunny windowsill.
Outdoors, it is a great time to enrich beds with organic matter, divide snowdrops, clean pots and prep your space before spring really kicks in.
A little effort now means healthier plants and bigger harvests later.
